  • Toivo's War - A Finnish Boy's Life in Wartime

    $12.95

    Preface

During the decades since the 1940s, Finnish Americans have told - during historical presentations, over coffee, and in other visits - the stories of the Winter and continuation Wars between Finland and the Soviet Union (Russia). The world was amazed by the Finns' heroic feats and bravery against a seemingly overwhelming enemy.
The purpose of this story is not to dwell on the Finns' challenges and actions, but to show that Finland was saved by the grace of our Heavenly Father, to who all glory belongs.
This story is told from the point of view of a young boy living in Helsinki. The events were based on true experiences. The main character's mother provided her son the needed place of refuge and encouragement to trust in God.
